JON ALLEN & Mike Mormeecha + Band announced for McHughs Basement!
Jon Allen has a voice you don’t forget. Just ask Jools Holland, who demanded Jon appear on “Later…” after hearing him on the radio. It was “In Your Light”, taken from Jon’s 2009 debut album Dead Man’s Suit that landed Jon a coveted spot on the show. Introducing Jon, Holland described how he heard him on the radio and had to Shazam the track with his mobile to find out who the singer was before insisting he was booked for the show. “It was one of the most amazing voices I’ve heard this year,” he explained. Jon Allen will play McHughes Basement Bar on Sunday 24th May along with Mike Mormeecha & Band.

RON SEXSMITH announces Belfast return!
For Ron Sexsmith, there’s always a trigger to an album, something that sets in motion the songs he’s writing not exactly as a concept, but certainly a theme or feel. 2015’s Carousel One, finds Sexsmith in surprising territory for a man often pegged as a downbeat balladeer: he’s actually contented. Ron Sexsmith has announced a show at The Empire Music Hall for Monday 22nd June. Tickets go on sale this Fridy from all usual outlets.
