Erol Alkan & Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs - The Stiff Kitten
Saturday 21st April 2012 22:00

Renowned DJ, Producer and general all round musical trendsetter Erol Alkan is joined by Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs a.k.a "TEED", the highly acclaimed solo project of Orlando Higginbottom for a special event at The Stiff Kitten on Saturday 21st April. Tickets on sale this Monday 13th February priced £12!

Renowned for his unique fusion of musical styles, Erol Alkan began his career as the lead promoter and main DJ for the seminal London club night Trash. It wasn't long before he became one of the world's most popular & important producer/remixers, while working alongside acts like Justice, Soulwax & Boys Noize.

Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, often shortened to "TEED", is the highly acclaimed solo project of Orlando Higginbottom, an Oxford-bred twentysomething whose hummable dance music combines electro pop, euro house, and two-step beats. His All in One Sixty Dancehalls EP debuted in 2009 on Greco-Roman, a label run by Hot Chip’s Joe Goddard, and, in June of 2010, Dinosaur's follow-up, All in Two Sixty Dancehalls EP, featured “Garden,” a break-out duet which caught the ear of both Annie Mac & Nick Grimshaw at BBC’s Radio One. His profile has experienced a meteoric rise in 2012 off the back of widespread media attention & a unique live show, a debut LP is expected later this year.

Artists » Erol Alkan

At the end of 2006, Erol Alkan was at a crossroads. He’d been voted DJ of the year by Mixmag. He’d made landmark, expectation-defying remixes for bands he loved: a crunching “glam racket” reworking of ‘Do You Want To’ for Franz Ferdinand, a wonderfully wistful reinterpretation of Hot Chip’s ‘Boy From School’, a psychedelic take on Scissor Sisters’ ‘I Don’t Feel Like Dancing’ and a genre-defining reworking of Justice’s ‘Waters Of Nazereth’.
