After a phenomenal year in which his self-released debut EP ‘It’s Got 4 Sad Songs On It btw’ topped the iTunes singer-songwriter chart on the first day of release and the follow-up ‘Another Four Sad Songs’ accelerated his growing stardom, twenty-year-old singer-songwriter Lewis Watson is finishing 2012 with a sold-out tour which includes a BBC Introducing show in his hometown of Oxford and a London date.
A comparative latecomer to music, Lewis Watson first started playing after receiving a guitar for his sixteenth birthday.
He first uploaded a cover of Bombay Bicycle Club’s ‘Swansea’ to in the summer of 2010. Watson’s YouTube following grew organically as he continued to mix original material with performances of his favourite songs. His stripped down take on Tracy Chapman’s ‘Fast Car’ suddenly changed everything. Shortly after, his steadily accumulated 1000 subscribers had snowballed into 23,000 and has since passed the 50,000 mark.
Lewis Watson will embark on his largest UK and Ireland headline tour playing the Cresent Arts Centre in Belfast on Sunday 24th March 2013. Tickets on sale Friday 7th December priced £8.50 from all usual outlets. Over 14's show.
