CHELSEA WOLFE - Auntie Annies
Thursday 25th April 2013 20:00
|
Northern California native Chelsea Wolfe makes her NI debut at Auntie Annies on Thursday April 25th. Her sound is best described with broad strokes: elemental, intense, radiant, ancient yet modern, intimate yet expansive, dark and sparkling. Hues of black metal and deep blues inform her ever-evolving electric folk, a warm force that wraps itself around the listener, encouraging uplift, seeking triumph. Her voice similarly haunts and soothes, with words that illuminate life's darker corners in order to reveal the unlikely truth and beauty hidden within. Tickets go onsale Wednesday March 6th at 9am. Chelsea Wolfe is a singer/songwriter and eponymous full band started in 2009 out of Los Angeles, California. Her style has been described as "doom folk", and her music has been described as a "specific brand of drone-metal-art-folk". Inspired by the dark state of the world and the strange connection between all things, she creates a unique musical blend of goth-folk, experimental rock and spiritual realm funeral songs.
